Taiwan

In April 2014, I flew on my first airplane flight to the mecca of street food, Taiwan. She certainly doesn't disappoint - over the ten days I was in Taiwan, I stuffed myself with numerous street foods, ranging from light snacks like the famous Taiwanese stinky tofu to much more filling ones like the big-sized chicken fillet. It was a great experience hopping to many of her famous night markets, and I must say, to this date, I miss Taiwanese food. Of course, that wasn't the only thing I did. I also visited many of her famous tourist attractions, such as Taipei 101, Jiu Fen Old Street, Sun Moon Lake, and so on. My most memorable tourist attraction would be Jiu Fen Old Street, as it seemed to exude an alluring and rustic charm, which I was fondly attracted to. Besides, the bowl of beef noodles I had there was amazing; the beef was succulent and fresh, coupled with the freshly hand-made egg noodles soaked in steamy hot broth; what a treat it was!
If I remember correctly (mind you, this was written from a retrospective point of view), over the 10d9n trip, I covered Taichung, Nantou, Kaohsiung, and Taipei region. It was a pity I didn't manage to visit areas like Alishan, as this was highly recommended by my friends who previously went to Taiwan due to the gorgeous sunrise that could be seen there. Nonetheless, Taiwan was worth exploring; with its resplendent sceneries and mouth-watering food, it's certainly no surprise that it is one of the most popular destinations Singaporeans head out to each year.
